BROWN, IVOR (SELECTED BY)
A Book of Marriage
London, Hamish Hamilton. 1963, First Edition. Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ill.: McLaren, William. Gold title on red boards which are clean with no wear with a mark to lower edge. Internally there is a name and date to front endpaper and some light foxing to closed edges else very clean, tight and unmarked. Dustjacket has a little chipping to spine head and tail. An anthology on the subject of marriage with something for all tastes, drawn from the best British and American writing of the centuries since Chaucer's wife of Bath so racily expressed her opinion that marriage in plenty is a perpetual feast well justified by scripture. Comprises chapters on wooing, the wedding day, later on, and opinion and advice. Illustrations by William McLaren. NOT EX LIB B2E. Very Good/Very Good.
